Friends of the George Memorial Library is hosting this event. The Book Festival will feature performers such as the Fort Bend Community Reads Pick Rena Pederson, Lise Olsen, Dacamera, Museum of Fine Arts, and more. In addition to the Author Alley, there will be a Kids Zone, a mini market for bookish vendors, food trucks, outdoor amphitheater performances, and more! 

The Handley Family will be there with their book, "One Family, One Idea, One Big Change." The book chronicles their grassroots campaign to change Texas law and discusses their strategies for passing HB 1188, The Caytlin Handley Act, named for their daughter. 

This is also the story of perseverance: of their daughter's struggle to learn valuable skills when the school gave up on her, and also Boyd and Carey Handley struggle as they had to navigate an unfamiliar system with little help or direction. 

For those wanting to make change in government, this book acts as a roadmap for strategic advocacy.
