Description
Welcome from the Lamar CISD Adult Transition Program (ATP), where we proudly serve students in Special Education ages 18–21 as they transition into adulthood. Our program is dedicated to equipping students with the skills, experiences, and support they need to succeed in life beyond high school.
As we gear up for another exciting school year, we are thrilled to announce Red-Carpet Day to celebrate our students' return on Monday, August 11th, the first day of school! We’re rolling out the red carpet to give our students a warm, enthusiastic, and unforgettable welcome, and we need your help to make it truly special.
We are looking for volunteers to help create a festive atmosphere as our students arrive. Your smiling faces and positive energy will make a lasting impression and help set the tone for a joyful and successful school year. Your presence sends a powerful message to our students, that they are celebrated, supported, and deeply valued by our community.

Can’t Join Us on Red-Carpet Day? Here’s How You Can Still Support!
We understand not everyone may be able to attend our Red-Carpet Welcome on Monday, August 11th, but there are still meaningful ways you can help us create a memorable first day for our students at the Adult Transition Program:
🎈 Help Us Decorate
Join us on Friday, August 8, 2025, anytime between 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM to help transform our entrance into a festive red-carpet experience!
🍩 Donate Refreshments or Lunch
Support our incredible staff by donating donuts, juice, water, or lunch for 40 team members on the first day of school (Aug. 11, 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM).
🎉 Provide Festive Supplies
We’re also looking for the following items to help create an exciting and welcoming environment:
- A red carpet for student entry
- Balloon decorations (columns or arch)
- A “Welcome Back to ATP” yard sign
