DESCRIPTION:Fort Bend County Libraries is hosting a book festival - a day of books\, mystery\, and more! There will be bookish crafts\, Friends of the Library Book Sale\, Kids' Zone\, Solve a Cold Case\, and the Author's Alley\, where you can purchase a copy of Carey Nelson Handley's One Family\, One Idea\, One Big Change. This book is the story of the Handley family's grassroots advocacy which resulted in new legislation to help families who have a child with a disability. The bill is named after Caytlin Handley\, their daughter\, and is also HER story of how she was the child teachers said had no potential. She ended up testifying before two legislative committees and winning the hearts of legislators on both sides of the aisle. Caytlin will be there to sign the book of her story and the official framed copy of The Caytlin Handley Act will be on display.
